Leon Antonio James is an analog photographer based in the North East of London. After quitting music production in 2013 he started shooting film. As a photographer he was looking for a project matching his passion for travelling and documenting, so he decided to go on a solo trip to Cuba. People says that Cuba is that magic island where time stopped and exactly this aspect of the little island intrigued James. Fascinated by photography from the 70s to the 90s he imagined that going to Cuba was like travelling to the past to shoot. Although you’re living the present, being there it is really like time travelling: the old buildings, the culture and, of course, the pre-1959 cars, everything “trapped in time”.
